After a long hiatus from Poor Horseman, I am back with exciting news: I bought a racehorse! Well, at least 1/200th of a thoroughbred. What’s even more exciting? My horse is scheduled for his first race tomorrow!
I purchased shares in a horse named Professional with Racing Factions. I decided to go with Racing Factions because of the fixed-cost option, and because Truman Moore is the first person in the racing world to help me along on this journey.
Professional is scheduled for the sixth race at Tampa Bay Downs tomorrow, 2/23, with a 3:15 scheduled post time. Unfortunately, I am not able to make the trip, but I do plan to watch the simulcast from Churchill Downs. If you are interested, please follow along with me on Twitter.
Return to blogging
Finally, some personal news. I lost my dad unexpectedly to a heart attack as I was getting into this horse ownership and blogging journey. We made some steps together into the racing world, which I will write about another time. I had a difficult time blogging and, as you can see by the dates on my posts, simply didn’t blog for quite some time.
Going forward, I plan to write about my ownership experience. I plan to do a better job keeping everyone informed of my adventures. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
